Solar Project Manager (PV and BESS)

About the role

An experienced Solar Project Manager is sought with a strong background in solar PV projects and Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS). The role covers the full project lifecycle, from initial feasibility through commissioning, ensuring medium-scale and large-scale solar projects are delivered on time, within budget and to the highest standards.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the planning, execution and closure of solar PV and BESS projects, in compliance with regulatory standards and client specifications.
• Develop project timelines, budgets and resource allocation plans.
• Coordinate engineering, procurement and construction teams.
• Prepare detailed project plans and reports, track progress and mitigate risks.
• Ensure milestones are met and communicate risks, changes and delays.
• Maintain relationships with clients, suppliers, contractors and regulatory bodies.
• Conduct site visits and ensure quality control throughout the project.
• Manage project documentation and contractual obligations.
• Lead and guide project teams, ensuring effective communication and problem solving.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Renewable Energy or a related field; a Master's is an advantage.
• At least 10 years of experience managing medium/large-scale solar projects, including BESS.
• Experience with grid integration and energy storage systems in renewable energy projects.
• Strong knowledge of emerging BESS and solar PV technologies.

Required skills

• Project management software such as MS Project or Primavera.
• Knowledge of BESS and solar PV technologies, industry standards and best practices.
• Regulatory compliance and permitting experience for renewable energy projects.
• PMP certification (or equivalent) is a plus.
