Specification Manager - Architectural & Interior Products

About the role

A growing company in Qatar is looking for an experienced Specification Manager for architectural and interior products. The role builds relationships with architects, interior designers, consultants, developers and project owners to promote and secure company products in specifications for commercial, residential, hospitality and infrastructure projects. It calls for strong technical knowledge of architectural and interior finishing products and a proven track record in the Qatar construction market.

Key responsibilities

• Engage with architectural consultants, interior designers, engineering consultants and developers; promote and secure products in specifications during design and tender stages.
• Ensure products are included in approved vendor lists and project material specifications, and run technical presentations, product demonstrations and CPD sessions.
• Monitor specifications from design through tendering, procurement and execution.
• Build relationships with architects, designers, contractors and developers across Qatar, identify upcoming projects and work with sales and business development teams to turn specifications into orders.
• Support consultants and designers with technical advice, product comparisons and alternatives, and coordinate submittals, approvals, samples and mock-ups.
• Keep a database of consultants, architects, developers and projects, track opportunities until order conversion, and report on pipelines and conversion performance.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Architecture, Civil Engineering, Interior Design or a related field.
• Minimum 7-10 years of relevant experience, preferably in architectural products, interior finishing materials or building material specifications.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in the Qatar or GCC construction market preferred.
• Established relationships with architects, consultants, interior designers and developers in Qatar.
• Proven ability to secure specifications and convert them into commercial opportunities.
• Excellent communication, presentation, negotiation and interpersonal skills.
• Strong understanding of construction project lifecycles and consultant approval procedures.
• Valid Qatar driving licence is mandatory.

Required skills

• Technical knowledge of raised access flooring, architectural flooring and carpet, wall and ceiling systems, acoustic and decorative interior solutions, and interior finishing materials.
• Proficiency in MS Office and CRM systems.
