Stewarding Team Leader – Hotel Operations

About the role

The Stewarding Team Leader supports daily operations of the Stewarding Department in a luxury hotel environment. You will ensure that all kitchen, back‑of‑house and food‑service areas remain clean, organized and ready for service while supervising the stewarding team.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise day‑to‑day stewarding activities during assigned shifts, ensuring equipment, utensils and glassware are cleaned, sanitized and available.
• Maintain cleanliness, safety and organization of kitchens, dishwashing areas, stores and back‑of‑house spaces.
• Conduct routine inspections, monitor waste disposal, and report equipment damage or maintenance needs.
• Lead, motivate and coach the stewarding team, conduct shift briefings, allocate duties and monitor attendance and performance.
• Assist with inventory control of operating equipment and stewarding supplies, track breakages and support audits.
• Ensure compliance with hotel policies, local food‑safety, hygiene and occupational health regulations, and promote safe working practices.

Required profile

• Diploma or degree in Hospitality Management or a related field.
• Minimum 2 years experience in stewarding, preferably in a luxury hotel, with at least 1 year in a supervisory or team‑leader role.
• Strong leadership, communication and organisational abilities.
• Sound knowledge of food safety, hygiene standards and stewarding operations.
• Ability to work under pressure in a fast‑paced environment.
