Waiter / Waitress – Guest Service Role

About the role

The Waiter/Waitress is responsible for delivering outstanding service to restaurant guests. This includes presenting menu options, taking accurate orders, and ensuring a pleasant dining experience from arrival to departure.

Key responsibilities

• Greet and seat guests as they enter the restaurant.
• Present menus, answer questions, and offer recommendations.
• Take accurate food and drink orders using the Micros POS system.
• Communicate orders and special requests clearly to the kitchen.
• Ensure timely delivery of meals and beverages.
• Check in with guests to confirm satisfaction and provide additional assistance.
• Process payments, issue receipts, and handle cash or card transactions.
• Maintain clean tables and a tidy dining area.
• Follow health, safety, food safety, and hygiene regulations.
• Monitor stock and supplies, reporting shortages as needed.
• Support opening and closing procedures, including reservations when required.
• Monitor operating supplies, equipment, and reduce spoilage and wastage.
• Perform any other reasonable duties assigned by hotel management.

Required profile

• High school certificate.
• At least two years of experience in a similar role.
• Strong communication and customer service skills.
• Passionate about hospitality with an extroverted personality.

Required skills

• Experience using the Micros POS system for order taking.
