Welding Engineer – Design & Process Specialist

About the role

The Welding Engineer is responsible for designing, developing, and implementing welding processes and procedures to ensure product integrity and quality across projects. The role collaborates with cross‑functional teams, provides technical support during production, and ensures compliance with industry standards.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop, and implement welding processes and procedures tailored to project and material requirements.
• Conduct inspections and audits of welding activities to ensure compliance with standards such as ASME, API, and AWS.
• Provide technical expertise and guidance to maintenance, production, and other stakeholders to resolve welding‑related issues.
• Coordinate with engineering, project management, fabrication, and other functions to integrate welding activities into overall project plans.
• Develop and deliver training programs on welding techniques, safety practices, and equipment use.
• Maintain comprehensive documentation of welding processes, qualifications, and inspections; generate reports for audits.
• Stay updated on emerging welding technologies and assess their applicability to company projects.
• Ensure all welding activities adhere to safety regulations and best practices.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Metallurgy, Welding Engineering or a related discipline.
• 8–10 years of direct experience in welding engineering, preferably in Oil & Gas, Petrochemical, or heavy manufacturing.
• Professional certifications such as Certified Welding Engineer (CWE) or Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) are preferred.
• Strong knowledge of industry standards and regulations governing welding practices.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for collaboration with diverse teams.
