Adjunct Instructor – Liberal Arts & Sciences

About the role

The Liberal Arts and Sciences Department at VCUarts Qatar seeks dynamic, student‑centered educators to teach undergraduate courses that support the university’s general education curriculum and interdisciplinary learning environment. Positions are part‑time and filled on a rolling basis.

Key responsibilities

• Teach undergraduate courses in assigned discipline(s) in line with university standards and learning outcomes.
• Develop syllabi, instructional materials, assignments, and assessments.
• Maintain regular communication with students, providing timely feedback.
• Foster an engaging, welcoming, and supportive learning environment for a diverse international student body.
• Record attendance, grades, and student progress using university systems.
• Adhere to departmental and university policies and participate in required meetings or training.

Required profile

• Master’s degree in the relevant discipline or a closely related field from an accredited institution.
• Demonstrated teaching experience at the university level or relevant professional experience.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills in English.
• Commitment to a respectful, professional, and civil environment for faculty, staff, and students.
• Eligibility to work in Qatar or meet Qatari immigration/employment requirements.
• Preferred: terminal degree (PhD, MFA, or equivalent), experience in interdisciplinary or general‑education programs, experience in international or multicultural higher‑education settings, and evidence of innovative, student‑centered teaching practices.
