Application Support Specialist

About the role

The Application Support Specialist provides end-to-end functional and technical support for the bank's omni-channel applications, including branch banking web apps, mobile banking, retail and corporate internet banking channels. The role covers daily operational support, incident management, log monitoring, participation in release deployments and coordination with development, infrastructure and business teams.

Key responsibilities

• Handle BAU support emails and queries, analyse and prioritise service requests and incidents, and keep users updated within SLAs
• Monitor error, health and performance logs with tools such as AppDynamics, spot anomalies and perform preliminary root cause analysis
• Support weekend deployments and release rollouts, validating application behaviour after deployment
• Take part in patch management, disaster recovery drills, database upgrades and other infra-level activities, validating omni-channel apps
• Work with development, QA, infrastructure and business teams, follow Agile practices and take part in stand-ups, sprint discussions and retrospectives

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or a related field
• Understanding of Agile methodology, sprint processes and DevOps-aligned workflows
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, proactive issue detection and good communication skills
• Willingness to support weekend deployments and occasional extended hours during critical releases

Required skills

• Basic Oracle SQL and MySQL
• Working knowledge of Linux servers and basic commands
• Basic understanding of Java, JavaScript and HTML; ability to debug simple code is an advantage
• Familiarity with APM tools such as AppDynamics
• Nice to have: banking experience, knowledge of ServiceNow, JIRA or Remedy, and understanding of omni-channel architectures, APIs and microservices
