Associate Director - Cyber Security (Government Sector)
KPMG · Doha
Job description
About the role
KPMG Qatar is hiring an Associate Director for Cyber Security, mainly for the government sector. This is a senior executive role that shapes and delivers cybersecurity advisory and large-scale transformation engagements for public sector clients. It combines 12+ years of experience in strategy, architecture, roadmap development, implementation and operations with hands-on technical expertise, and full commercial ownership of pipeline, proposals and pursuits.
Key responsibilities
- Drive the commercial strategy for the government and public sector cybersecurity practice in Qatar, meeting annual pipeline, sales and revenue targets.
- Lead the end-to-end capture of large public sector opportunities, including bids, proposals, technical scoping, pricing and presentations to C-level committees.
- Close new business with ministries, public authorities, state-owned enterprises and critical infrastructure entities, and build joint go-to-market alliances with vendors, distributors and system integrators.
- Serve as the primary cybersecurity advisor to senior government officials, CIOs and CISOs, advising on frameworks such as QCSF, NIA, PDPPL and QCB.
- Elevate KPMG's brand through thought leadership and keynote speaking, and turn technical risks into clear insights for non-technical executives.
- Govern multi-disciplinary transformation programs, ensure quality, risk and compliance reviews, and act as executive sponsor for key accounts.
- Monitor emerging threats and technologies, and recruit, mentor and retain a team of cybersecurity consultants and technical architects.
Required profile
- Bachelor's degree in information security, computer science, engineering or a related field.
- 12-15+ years of experience in IT services, cybersecurity and technology risk management.
- 4+ years serving government or public sector clients in the GCC, with large-scale security transformations, preferably in Qatar.
- Hands-on background in solution architecture and implementation.
- Professional working proficiency in Arabic and English is a must.
Required skills
- Architecture-level knowledge of IAM/PAM, cloud security, network infrastructure, AI security, OT/ICS security and IoT.
- Understanding of ISO 27001, CRISC, NIST and Qatar's frameworks (QCSF, NIA, PDPPL, QCB).
- Certifications: at least two from CISSP, CISM, CISA, CRISC, CGEIT, TOGAF, CCSP, Azure/GCP/AWS solutions architect, CEH or GIAC.
