Automotive Service Technician

About the role

The Technician will perform dealership service on customer vehicles, ensuring high quality, productivity and technical efficiency. The role focuses on first‑time fixes, minimizing repeat repairs and supporting workshop revenue generation. You will work closely with the Service Supervisor to diagnose issues and use specialised tools safely.

Key responsibilities

• Execute service repairs according to the repair order schedule.
• Report additional required work with cost estimates.
• Maintain check sheets, log sheets and workshop housekeeping.
• Keep tools and equipment in the bay to company standards.
• Ensure zero repeat repairs through accurate diagnosis and troubleshooting.
• Request assistance from the Supervisor when needed.
• Conduct final inspections following SOPs.
• Punch in/out accurately to record billable hours.
• Maintain fire safety equipment and use appropriate PPE.
• Participate in workshop meetings and report incidents.

Required profile

• ITI/Diploma in Automobile Engineering.
• 2‑3 years experience as a technician in an automotive dealership.
• Basic PC literacy and a valid motor driving licence.

Required skills

• Vehicle diagnostics and troubleshooting.
• Use of special automotive tools and equipment.
• Interpretation of workshop manuals and wiring diagrams.
• Basic computer skills.
