Mechanical Asset Engineer – Doha

About the role

The Asset Engineer – Mechanical is responsible for the technical asset management, condition, reliability and lifecycle optimisation of mechanical assets across wastewater treatment plants and related O&M facilities in Doha.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and implement mechanical asset management plans aligned with the overall asset strategy, covering acquisition to disposal.
• Monitor and maintain pumps, blowers, compressors, gearboxes, mixers, agitators, centrifuges, screens, conveyors, valves, actuators and lifting equipment, creating preventive, predictive and corrective maintenance strategies.
• Lead root‑cause analysis for major equipment failures and track corrective actions, availability, reliability and maintenance cost metrics.
• Review equipment specifications, datasheets and vendor documentation, providing technical input for procurement, refurbishment and commissioning.
• Ensure accurate mechanical asset data, maintenance history and condition records in the CMMS/ERP/Asset Management System and support lifecycle cost assessments.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
• 5–8 years of experience in mechanical asset management, maintenance, reliability or engineering, preferably in wastewater treatment or water utilities.
• Strong analytical, technical reporting and problem‑solving skills with fluent English.
• Experience with condition monitoring, reliability improvement and CMMS/ERP/Asset Management Systems.

• Condition monitoring techniques (vibration analysis, oil analysis, lubrication monitoring, alignment, balancing).

• RCM (Reliability‑Centered Maintenance) studies and Root Cause Analysis.
