Business Manager – Technical Projects

About the role

The Business Manager will provide comprehensive business support to the Technical (Major Projects) team, ensuring effective reporting, risk and issue management, governance, and compliance. This role is pivotal in enabling the project’s technical work to stay on schedule, within budget, and achieve strategic outcomes.

Key responsibilities

• Manage all business aspects of the project, including risk management, PMS compliance, lessons learned, issues management, reporting, and recruitment.
• Coordinate with section heads to ensure cohesive team operation and support for project managers and senior leadership.
• Oversee preparation, review, and finalisation of reports, presentations, and governance documents.
• Ensure compliance with PMS gate requirements throughout project execution.
• Maintain and update the project risk register and provide regular risk reporting.
• Support organisational functions such as recruitment, facilities, and human capital to ensure adequate staffing.
• Develop and maintain organisational charts and oversee IT system integrity and competency assurance processes.

Required profile

• Proven experience in managing business support functions for large‑scale technical or construction projects.
• Strong ability to communicate and influence across multiple organisational levels.
• Excellent organisational and analytical skills with a focus on detail and accuracy.
• Capability to work under high pressure and meet tight deadlines.
