Commercial & Contract Manager

About the role

We are looking for a highly experienced Commercial & Contract Manager to lead the commercial management of construction projects from tender through to completion. This strategic role will act as the primary commercial authority, ensuring profitability, risk mitigation, and contractual compliance across the project lifecycle.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the organisation's commercial function, providing strategic advice on pricing, contracts and risk.
• Manage the full tendering process, from opportunity assessment to bid submission, including cost estimation and pricing strategy.
• Assume commercial responsibility after contract award, establishing budgets, cash‑flow forecasts and managing variations, claims and disputes.
• Monitor project costs, analyse variances and drive margin protection and profitability improvement.
• Develop and enforce commercial policies, procedures and governance frameworks.
• Support senior management with commercial insights and identify opportunities to enhance project returns.

Required profile

• Proven senior‑level experience in commercial management within the construction industry.
• Strong understanding of tendering, cost estimation, contract administration and claim management.
• Demonstrated ability to lead cross‑functional teams and influence senior stakeholders.
• Excellent analytical skills with a focus on profitability and risk mitigation.
