Commis II - Pastry

About the role

We are looking for a motivated Commis II – Pastry to join the culinary team at JW Marriott Doha. The role involves supporting the pastry department by preparing ingredients, assembling dishes and maintaining high standards of hygiene and presentation.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and portion ingredients, chop, weigh, and store food items.
• Wash, peel and ready fresh fruits and vegetables.
• Measure, mix and cook pastries according to recipes and quality guidelines.
• Operate ovens, stoves, grills, microwaves and fryers safely.
• Prepare cold dishes, plate food, and ensure proper portioning.
• Set‑up and break down work stations, clean and disinfect kitchen areas, tools and equipment.
• Monitor food temperature and quality, and perform taste tests.
• Follow all safety, security and company policies, reporting any hazards.

Required profile

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum 12 months of relevant pastry or food‑preparation experience.
• No supervisory experience required.
• Ability to work in a fast‑paced kitchen environment.
