Consultant Pediatric Ophthalmologist - Join Leading Healthcare Organization in Doha

About the role

We are seeking a highly qualified Consultant Pediatric Ophthalmologist to join a leading healthcare organization in Doha, Qatar. The role involves delivering specialised diagnostic, medical and surgical care for infants, children and adolescents with eye disorders within a multidisciplinary team.

Key responsibilities

• Diagnose and manage paediatric ophthalmic conditions such as strabismus, amblyopia, congenital cataracts, glaucoma, refractive and retinal disorders.
• Perform comprehensive paediatric eye examinations and specialised diagnostic procedures.
• Conduct paediatric ophthalmic surgeries, including strabismus surgery and other age‑appropriate interventions.
• Develop individualized treatment plans based on best clinical practices.
• Collaborate with paediatricians, neurologists, geneticists and other specialists for complex cases.
• Provide consultation services to neonatal and paediatric intensive care units.
• Educate patients and families on diagnosis, treatment options and preventive eye care.
• Supervise and mentor junior physicians, residents, fellows and allied health professionals.
• Participate in quality improvement, research activities and continuing medical education programmes.

Required profile

• Medical degree (MBBS or equivalent) from an accredited institution.
• Board certification / CCT / Fellowship in Ophthalmology.
• Fellowship or subspecialty training in Paediatric Ophthalmology and Strabismus.
• Minimum 5 years of experience as a Consultant Paediatric Ophthalmologist.
• Strong communication, leadership and teamwork abilities.
