Cook I - The Ritz-Carlton, Doha

About the role

The Ritz-Carlton in Doha is looking for a Cook I to prepare meals and dishes according to recipes, quality standards and presentation standards. The role is full time and based in Doha.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare special meals or substitute items, and prepare cold foods
• Regulate the temperature of ovens, broilers, grills and roasters
• Pull food from freezer storage to thaw in the refrigerator
• Ensure proper portion, arrangement and garnish, and monitor the quality and quantity of food prepared
• Maintain food logs and follow food preparation checklists
• Inform the Chef of excess food items for daily specials and inform F&B service staff of menu specials and out-of-stock items
• Anticipate guest service needs and communicate assistance needed during busy periods
• Assist management with hiring, training, scheduling, evaluating, counseling, disciplining and motivating staff, and act as a role model
• Follow company, safety and security policies, report accidents and unsafe conditions, and complete safety training and certifications
• Maintain a clean, professional appearance, protect confidential information and company assets, and uphold quality expectations

Required profile

• Preferred: technical, trade or vocational school degree
• Preferred: at least 3 years of related work experience
• No supervisory experience required
• Physical ability to stand, sit or walk for long periods, bend, twist and lift up to 25 pounds
