About the role

The Ritz-Carlton is hiring a Cook III-Pastry in Doha, Qatar, within its Food and Beverage & Culinary category. The role is full-time and non-management, and involves preparing and cooking food according to recipes, quality and presentation standards, with a focus on baked goods.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and cook food according to recipes, quality and presentation standards, and food prep checklists.
• Prepare ingredients for cooking, including portioning, chopping and storing food before use.
• Use baking and measuring tools, equipment and appliances safely to prepare baked foods.
• Follow food safety handling policies and procedures, including personal hygiene.
• Check that kitchen appliances and food are at the correct temperature and report issues to management.
• Wash and disinfect the kitchen area, set up and break down work stations, and follow sanitation and cleaning procedures.
• Monitor the quality of food prepared and portions served throughout the shift.
• Follow company policies, including safety and security, and report accidents, injuries and unsafe conditions to the manager.
• Maintain a clean, professional appearance, protect company assets and keep proprietary information confidential.
• Work cooperatively with the team and perform other reasonable duties requested by supervisors.

Required profile

• High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent preferred.
• Less than 1 year of related work experience preferred.
• No supervisory experience required.
• Ability to move objects up to 25 pounds, work on sloping or slippery surfaces, reach overhead and below the knees, and stand, sit or walk for long periods.
