Director of Business Development

About the role

We are looking for a commercially driven Director of Business Development to spearhead growth across the GCC, Levant and selected African markets. The role focuses on securing high‑value opportunities in the power, oil & gas, waste‑to‑energy, fertilizers and petrochemicals sectors.

Key responsibilities

• Identify, develop and secure new business opportunities across targeted sectors and geographies.
• Lead market intelligence, competitor analysis and strategic positioning activities.
• Build and maintain relationships with government authorities, utilities, developers and strategic partners.
• Support pre‑qualification submissions, tenders, consortium formation and commercial negotiations.
• Drive business development for EPC, PPP, BOT, BOO and concession‑based projects.
• Coordinate with technical, commercial and executive teams to craft winning proposals.
• Represent the company at industry events, client meetings and regional business forums.

Required profile

• Minimum 15 + years of experience in business development, project development or commercial leadership.
• Strong background in the power sector and proven upstream or midstream oil & gas experience.
• Experience with waste‑to‑energy, fertilizers and petrochemicals projects.
• Deep understanding of concessions, PPP, BOT and project financing structures.
• Extensive professional network across GCC, Levant (including Iraq, Syria, Lebanon, Libya) and preferably African markets.
• Arabic fluency is mandatory; English fluency is essential.
• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business Administration or related field; MBA or postgraduate qualification preferred.
