Director of Rooms (Hotel Operations)

About the role

The Director of Rooms leads the entire Rooms Division, ensuring seamless operations across all related departments. This senior position is responsible for delivering exceptional guest experiences while meeting profitability and occupancy targets in Doha.

Key responsibilities

• Participate in the development and execution of the hotel’s strategic plan.
• Prepare and monitor the annual budget, overseeing profit and loss performance.
• Collaborate with Revenue Management and Sales to maximise room occupancy, rates and market share.
• Control staffing rosters, labour costs and productivity within budget limits.
• Conduct recruitment interviews and manage talent development initiatives.
• Oversee daily operational tasks, delegating responsibilities and ensuring follow‑up.
• Review and optimise workflows, procedures and policies.
• Maintain clear communication with all department heads and organise regular departmental meetings.
• Create career development plans for high‑potential employees and members of the talent pool.

Required profile

• Proven experience in leading a hotel Rooms Division or equivalent senior hospitality role.
• Demonstrated ability to achieve high guest satisfaction scores (CSS ≥ 5, LQA ≥ 85%).
• Strong focus on employee satisfaction (ESS ≥ 75%) and talent development.
• Track record of meeting profitability and occupancy targets in line with budget forecasts.
• Excellent leadership, communication and cross‑functional collaboration skills.
