Director of Rooms

About the role

The Director of Rooms will act as the strategic business leader for the property's Rooms department, overseeing all aspects of room operations, guest experience, and financial performance. Reporting to senior hotel management, this role ensures the brand’s service standards are met while driving revenue growth and employee satisfaction.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the Rooms department, championing the brand’s service vision and communicating clear goals to the team.
• Develop and implement departmental strategies aligned with the brand’s business plan, overseeing room rates, specials and promotions.
• Analyse service issues, monitor profitability, audit expenses and drive operational strategies to meet financial targets.
• Monitor sales performance against budget, manage occupancy, rates, wages and controllable expenses, and coach the team to achieve revenue goals.
• Ensure exceptional guest satisfaction by reviewing feedback, taking corrective actions and promoting high‑quality service throughout the guest journey.

Required profile

• 2‑year degree in Business Administration, Hotel & Restaurant Management or related field with at least 4 years relevant experience, OR a 4‑year bachelor’s degree with at least 2 years experience.
• Proven leadership experience in guest services, front desk, housekeeping, sales, marketing or hotel operations.
• Strong analytical ability to interpret financial reports and drive profitability.
• Excellent communication skills to convey brand standards and motivate teams.
