Drainage Advisor

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Drainage Advisor to provide technical expertise and strategic guidance on a major civil infrastructure project in Qatar. The successful candidate will work closely with engineering, construction, and project teams to ensure robust stormwater and urban drainage solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Provide specialist technical advice on drainage and stormwater infrastructure throughout the project lifecycle.
• Review and comment on drainage designs, calculations, drawings, and specifications.
• Advise on planning, design, and implementation of stormwater drainage systems, including networks, culverts, channels, outfalls, and detention facilities.
• Ensure compliance with local standards, codes, and project requirements.
• Identify and mitigate drainage‑related risks, design issues, and constructability challenges.
• Collaborate with civil, structural, utilities, environmental, and other engineering disciplines for integrated project delivery.
• Support consultants, contractors, and project teams with technical guidance and quality monitoring.
• Participate in technical meetings, design reviews, risk assessments, and value‑engineering initiatives.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Water Resources Engineering or a related field.
• Extensive experience in urban drainage, stormwater management, and large‑scale civil infrastructure projects.
• Strong knowledge of drainage design principles, hydraulic systems, and relevant international and local standards.
• Proven ability to review engineering designs, technical reports, drawings, and specifications.
• Professional engineering certification or membership with a recognized engineering body is highly desirable.
