Event Technical Manager – Audio, Video & Lighting

About the role

The Event Technical Manager – Audio, Video & Lighting is a full‑time, on‑site position in Doha, Qatar. You will be responsible for the end‑to‑end technical delivery of live events, ensuring that audio, video and lighting systems meet the highest quality standards and client expectations.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, set up, operate and break down audio, video and lighting equipment for live events.
• Coordinate with event producers, creative teams and vendors to develop technical plans and equipment lists.
• Supervise load‑in, rigging, system configuration and on‑site installation.
• Lead and schedule technical crews, assign tasks and provide coaching.
• Manage rentals, vendor relationships and technical budgets.
• Provide real‑time troubleshooting and technical support during events.
• Maintain equipment inventory, ensure safety compliance and conduct regular inspections.
• Track technical budgets and contribute to continuous improvement of event technology.

Required profile

• Strong analytical skills to assess technical needs and optimise system performance.
• Proven team‑management experience, including leading technical crews.
• Hands‑on expertise in audio, video and lighting installation, configuration and live operation.
• Experience in R&D of event technologies and recommending equipment upgrades.
• Solid project‑management abilities to plan timelines, manage budgets and meet deadlines.
• Extensive knowledge of professional sound systems, video projection/LED walls, live streaming and stage lighting consoles.
• Familiarity with safety standards, rigging practices and industry best practices.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to work with clients, vendors and internal teams.
• Relevant diploma or degree in Audio Engineering, Event Technology, Media Production, or equivalent practical experience.
• Previous experience in event production or live entertainment in the Middle East is an advantage.
