Field Operator

About the role

The Field Operator is responsible for monitoring plant operations, ensuring equipment performance, and supporting water quality targets in a water treatment or desalination facility.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor local operating parameters, equipment status and record data in log sheets and shift reports.
• Conduct routine inspections of pumps, valves, filters, membranes, chemical dosing systems and auxiliary equipment.
• Perform plant start‑up, shutdown and equipment changeovers following standard procedures.
• Identify equipment abnormalities such as leaks, vibrations or malfunctions and report them promptly.
• Assist maintenance teams with planned and corrective activities, including basic cleaning, lubrication and minor repairs.
• Collect water samples, support laboratory testing and monitor RO membranes, pretreatment and chemical dosing to meet quality targets.
• Follow HSE procedures, use appropriate PPE and report incidents or unsafe conditions.

Required profile

• Diploma or Technical Certificate in Mechanical, Electrical, Chemical, Process or Water Treatment Engineering.
• Typically 3–4 years of experience in RO desalination plants (≥50 MLD), water treatment, wastewater treatment or related process industries.

Required skills

• Operation and inspection of pumps, valves, filters and membrane systems.
• Management of chemical dosing equipment.
• Water sampling and basic laboratory testing.
• Basic equipment maintenance (cleaning, lubrication, minor repairs).
