Financial Controller

About the role

RBAT, a joint venture of Rheinmetall delivering advanced defence and technology capabilities in Qatar, is seeking a Financial Controller to ensure the integrity of its financial records and act as the technical backbone of a growing finance and commercial function. The role is hands‑on, covering month‑end close, IFRS compliance, audit leadership and commercial support for pricing and bids.

Key responsibilities

• Own month‑end close, general ledger maintenance and a fully reconciled balance sheet.
• Ensure IFRS compliance, prepare statutory financial statements and provide technical accounting guidance.
• Lead the annual external audit from planning to delivery, guaranteeing clean and on‑time results.
• Maintain internal controls, group/shareholder reporting and Qatari statutory and tax compliance.
• Support project cost control, pricing and commercial input into bids and contract reviews.
• Coach and develop the accounting team to embed financial integrity across the organisation.

Required profile

• Professional accounting qualification (ACCA, CPA, CA, ACA or CIMA).
• Minimum 8 years of finance experience, including senior controller or reporting responsibilities.
• Proven experience leading external audits as the client‑side owner.
• Strong IFRS knowledge and hands‑on ERP experience.
• Commercial acumen with ability to translate cost and margin analysis into pricing decisions.
• Meticulous, control‑oriented mindset and comfort acting as a finance “Swiss army knife”.
• Experience in a Big 4 audit firm and/or project‑based defence, engineering or contracting environments, preferably with GCC/Qatar exposure.
