About the role
The Government Relations Officer will join the People & Culture team at Mandarin Oriental Doha, supporting the hotel’s human resources function through visa and immigration management. This onsite role requires close collaboration with HR, immigration authorities, and hotel operations to ensure compliance with Qatari regulations.
Key responsibilities
- Monitor and communicate updates to labour and immigration laws, forms, and procedures to the HR department.
- Process all visa types, including employment, residence, business, and guest/entertainer visas.
- Advise management on visa restrictions and provide timely updates.
- Handle medical checks, occupational health cards, and Qatar ID issuance.
- Assist colleagues with visa renewals for immediate dependents.
- Ensure electronic contracts are attested for all new hires.
- Submit required documentation to Immigration or the Labour Office for cancelled or absconding employees and update the sponsorship list accordingly.
Required profile
- Minimum of 12 months experience in visa or immigration processing, preferably within a hospitality environment.
- Strong knowledge of Qatari labour and immigration regulations.
- Excellent attention to detail and ability to maintain accurate records.
- Effective communication skills to liaise with internal teams and government authorities.
