Gym Instructor – Fitness & Recreation

About the role

The Gym Instructor will lead fitness activities at our recreation facility on The Pearl Island, providing personalized exercise programs and ensuring a safe, welcoming environment for all guests.

Key responsibilities

• Assess each guest’s current fitness level and design individualized exercise plans.
• Provide counseling on proper equipment use and overall wellness.
• Register, schedule, and manage recreation activities for guests.
• Maintain equipment, report maintenance needs, and ensure supplies (cups, water) are stocked.
• Promote a fun, relaxed atmosphere while enforcing safety rules and facility policies.
• Assist management with hiring, training, scheduling, and employee evaluations.
• Report accidents, complete safety training, and uphold company policies.
• Welcome guests, address service needs, assist individuals with disabilities, and handle phone inquiries professionally.
• Process payments for rentals, activities, and retail sales using point‑of‑sale systems.
• Inspect equipment for defects and perform routine visual checks.

Required profile

• High school diploma or GED equivalent.
• Less than one year of related experience (junior level).
• No supervisory experience required.
• Current CPR and First Aid certifications.
