Head of Finance – Retail & E‑commerce

About the role

We are a fast‑growing retail and e‑commerce company in Doha seeking a Head of Finance to build and lead the finance and accounting function from the ground up. The role reports to senior leadership and is responsible for shaping the financial strategy, driving performance and providing clear insight into the business’s financial health.

Key responsibilities

• Design and implement the finance and accounting department, including structure, SOPs, workflows and internal controls.
• Establish financial controls, reporting systems and executive dashboards covering sales, cash flow, expenses and profitability.
• Manage daily cash flow, liquidity, weekly and monthly forecasts, and prepare monthly P&L, balance sheet and management reports.
• Oversee sales, collections, bank and supplier reconciliations, and monitor payables and outstanding balances.
• Coordinate with supply‑chain, procurement, logistics and operations to ensure accurate inventory valuation and cost allocation.
• Lead budgeting, forecasting and business planning processes across multiple entities.
• Identify financial gaps, risks and opportunities, presenting data‑driven solutions to leadership.
• Evaluate new business opportunities, expansions and pricing strategies with commercial analysis.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance or Accounting (Master’s a plus).
• 8+ years progressive finance experience in the GCC, including at least 3 years in a senior leadership role.
• Proven background in retail, e‑commerce, distribution or trading businesses.
• Experience building finance functions from scratch and managing multi‑country or multi‑entity operations.
• Professional qualification such as ACCA, CMA, CPA or CIMA is a strong advantage.

Required skills

• Advanced proficiency in Excel.
• Advanced proficiency in Google Sheets.
• Experience with ERP or other accounting systems.
