Head of Tax Compliance Risk Section

About the role

The Head of the Tax Compliance Risk Section leads the identification, assessment and mitigation of tax law compliance risks. This senior position uses data‑driven analytical methods to create risk profiles that guide targeted compliance actions and supports coordination with internal and external stakeholders.

Key responsibilities

• Lead proactive and reactive tax compliance risk analysis using statistical models, behavioral analysis and sector‑based analytics.
• Monitor international taxation risks, including treaty abuse and transfer pricing, through bilateral and multilateral treaty reviews.
• Review and ensure quality of periodic risk reports, recommendations and tax‑gap assessments.
• Develop recommendations for risk mitigation, targeted audits and advanced analytical technologies.
• Coordinate with IT to develop and enhance analytical tools for risk identification.
• Oversee selection of audit targets based on risk analysis, ensuring transparent, risk‑based methodology.
• Represent the Section in international forums and coordinate with ministries and other external stakeholders.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Economics, Accounting, Finance, Statistics, Business Administration or related field; Master’s degree preferred.
• Minimum six years of experience in tax compliance risk, tax/financial analysis, risk management, tax audit or regulatory oversight.
• Strong knowledge of tax legislation, compliance risk methodologies and data‑analysis techniques.
• Professional certifications are an advantage.
