High School English Teacher – International School in Doha

About the role

We are looking for a passionate High School English Teacher to join a prestigious international school in Doha, Qatar. This full‑time position offers the chance to inspire secondary‑school students, foster a love for literature, and develop critical thinking skills in a supportive learning environment.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, prepare and deliver engaging English lessons aligned with curriculum standards.
• Create a positive, inclusive classroom atmosphere that encourages participation and high standards of behaviour.
• Assess, record and report student progress, providing constructive feedback.
• Adapt teaching materials to meet diverse learner needs.
• Prepare students for internal and external examinations.
• Communicate effectively with parents, colleagues and senior leadership.
• Participate in departmental meetings, parent‑teacher evenings and school‑wide training events.
• Contribute to the wider school community through extracurricular activities.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in English, Education or a related field.
• Recognised teaching qualification (e.g., PGCE, QTS or equivalent).
• Proven experience teaching English to high‑school or secondary students (Years 7‑13).
• Familiarity with the British National Curriculum, IGCSE or A‑Level programmes is highly desirable.
• Strong organisational, communication and interpersonal skills.
• Genuine passion for teaching and commitment to student development.
