Housekeeping Public Area Supervisor

About the role

The Housekeeping Public Area Supervisor ensures that all guest‑facing and back‑of‑house public spaces at The Ned Doha are maintained to the highest standards of cleanliness, hygiene and presentation. Reporting to the Head of Housekeeping, this role leads a team of Public Area Attendants, coordinates daily cleaning activities and supports the overall guest experience.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise and schedule Public Area Attendants to meet hotel cleaning standards.
• Conduct regular inspections of lobbies, corridors, restaurants, meeting rooms, restrooms, elevators and recreational facilities.
• Monitor and maintain cleanliness of back‑of‑house areas, employee facilities and service corridors.
• Train new team members and provide ongoing coaching and performance feedback.
• Develop and implement cleaning schedules, procedures and checklists.
• Ensure public areas are stocked with required supplies and amenities.
• Coordinate deep‑cleaning projects and special cleaning tasks.
• Monitor inventory of cleaning supplies, chemicals, equipment and linen; submit requisitions as needed.
• Enforce safe handling, storage and use of cleaning chemicals and equipment.
• Respond promptly to guest requests, complaints and maintenance concerns related to public areas.
• Collaborate with Engineering, Front Office and other departments to address maintenance issues.

Required profile

• Minimum 24 months (2 years) of experience in public area housekeeping, preferably in a luxury hotel.
• Proven supervisory experience with the ability to train and motivate staff.
• Strong knowledge of public area cleaning standards, safety and chemical handling procedures.
• Ability to conduct inspections and maintain high presentation standards.
• Good organizational skills to develop schedules and manage inventory.
