Instrumentation & Control (I&C) Technician

About the role

The Instrumentation & Control (I&C) Technician will be responsible for maintaining and troubleshooting field instrumentation and automation systems at our Doha site. The role involves preventive maintenance, calibration, and support for control panels, PLCs, and SCADA environments.

Key responsibilities

• Perform routine preventive and predictive maintenance on pressure, flow, level, temperature, conductivity, pH, chlorine, and turbidity instruments.
• Install, calibrate, test, and replace defective field devices.
• Maintain accurate calibration records and generate maintenance reports.
• Conduct loop checking, signal verification, and control valve testing.
• Support PLC, RTU, HMI, SCADA, DCS, and control panel troubleshooting, including communication and network issues.
• Assist in commissioning, startup activities, and control system tuning.

Required profile

• Diploma or Technical Certificate in Instrumentation, Electronics, Electrical Engineering, or Automation Technology.
• Additional certifications in PLC/SCADA or instrumentation are a plus.
• Ability to read and interpret wiring diagrams, I/O lists, and P&IDs.

Required skills

• PROFIBUS communication protocol knowledge and troubleshooting.
• Experience with PROFIBUS‑based process instruments (pressure, level, differential pressure, EMF flowmeters).
• Familiarity with Festo panels, Siemens PLCs, and Yokogawa CENTUM VP DCS.
• Hands‑on use of diagnostic and calibration tools such as ProfiTrace devices, pressure calibrators, and deadweight testers.
• Working knowledge of chlorine, pH, ORP, hardness, and conductivity analyzers.
• Understanding of PLC, RTU, HMI, SCADA, DCS, and control panel maintenance.
