Instrumentation Engineering Lead

About the role

The Instrumentation Engineering Lead will act as Discipline Lead and Technical Authority (TA2) for a major power generation project, providing technical direction and ensuring high‑quality delivery across all project phases.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and mentor a team of discipline engineers, delivering technical guidance and oversight.
• Manage the contractor’s work to meet safety, schedule, cost, and quality objectives.
• Review, approve, and sign‑off discipline deliverables.
• Ensure compliance with process engineering standards, Shell DEPs and QatarEnergy guidelines.
• Plan, schedule, allocate resources and drive execution within project constraints.

Required profile

• Minimum 20 years post‑graduate experience, including 15 years in power generation/energy.
• At least 5 years in proven leadership roles.
• Shell Technical Authority Level 2 (TA2) equivalent or eligibility for certification.
• Experience across Concept/Feasibility, FEED and EPIC phases.
• Strong knowledge of international process engineering standards and Shell DEPs.
• Familiarity with QatarEnergy standards, procedures and guidelines (preferred).
• Proven ability in discipline planning, scheduling, resource allocation and risk mitigation.
• PMP certification preferred.
