Mechanical Engineer – Mechanical Integrity & Reliability

About the role

We are seeking a Mechanical Engineer to provide specialized expertise that strengthens troubleshooting, integrity assurance, and lifecycle performance of mechanical systems across our fleet. The role ensures safe, compliant, and reliable operations while supporting technical governance, reliability initiatives, and capital improvement projects.

Key responsibilities

• Establish and maintain mechanical engineering standards aligned with OEM, class, flag state, and regulatory requirements.
• Approve mechanical maintenance procedures, job plans, and work scopes in line with asset‑management governance.
• Lead advanced diagnostics and troubleshooting for rotating equipment, engines, pumps, cranes, and hydraulic systems.
• Guide rig‑based teams in root‑cause analysis and ensure corrective actions address underlying failure modes.
• Review and recommend preventive‑maintenance strategies, task lists, and intervals based on risk, performance history, and OEM guidance.
• Conduct mechanical integrity audits covering pressure systems, lifting equipment, rotating machinery, and hydraulics.
• Verify certification currency and ensure compliance with class, flag state, API, and regulatory inspection requirements.
• Provide technical direction for mechanical upgrades, overhauls, and CAPEX initiatives, reviewing vendor proposals and design changes through the MOC process.
• Analyze critical spare requirements, obsolescence risks, and stock levels in collaboration with supply‑chain functions.
• Maintain accurate mechanical drawings, manuals, and certifications in controlled repositories and issue integrity reports and technical advisories.

Required profile

• Specialized mechanical engineering expertise applied to fleet‑wide systems.
• Proven ability to lead diagnostics, root‑cause analysis, and corrective action implementation.
• Experience conducting mechanical integrity audits and ensuring regulatory compliance.
• Capability to collaborate with technical superintendents, supply‑chain teams, and project stakeholders.
