Mid-level Cybersecurity Engineer

About the role

Snoonu is looking for a proactive Security Engineer to design, implement, and maintain robust security controls across its platforms. You will protect sensitive data and assets from cyber threats while collaborating with cross‑functional teams in a fast‑paced environment.

Key responsibilities

• Assist with vulnerability management, threat mitigation, and patching.
• Administer and optimize security tools such as SIEM, DLP, IAM, EPP/EDR/XDR, MDM, and WAF.
• Design, implement, and maintain security controls and countermeasures to meet ISO27001 and PCI‑DSS standards.
• Develop and enforce identity and access policies (RBAC, ABAC).
• Respond to security incidents, perform root‑cause analysis, and apply corrective actions.
• Monitor alerts, conduct security audits, and ensure ongoing compliance.
• Promote cybersecurity awareness through training and outreach.

Required profile

• 3+ years of hands‑on experience in a security‑focused role.
• Familiarity with security frameworks such as OWASP, NIST, and ISO27001.
• Experience securing cloud environments, preferably AWS.
• Strong analytical, problem‑solving, and prioritisation skills.
• Commitment to continuous learning and staying current with emerging threats.

Required skills

• SIEM, DLP, IAM, EPP/EDR/XDR, MDM, WAF.
• Vulnerability management tools (e.g., Nessus).
• Network security fundamentals: firewalls, IDS/IPS, VPN, segmentation.
• Identity and access management concepts: RBAC, ABAC.
• Cloud security on AWS.
• Phishing detection and mitigation.
• Knowledge of API security, container security, and penetration testing.
• Security certifications such as CISM or CISSP (preferred).
