Operations Manager, Catering & Hospitality

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Operations Manager to lead and optimise our catering and hospitality services across Doha, Qatar. The successful candidate will drive operational excellence, profitability and customer satisfaction while managing large‑scale contracts and multiple sites.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and manage all catering, hospitality and food‑service operations across multiple locations and client sites.
• Develop and implement operational strategies to improve efficiency, productivity, profitability and customer satisfaction.
• Establish, monitor and report on Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) for all operational departments.
• Oversee large‑scale catering contracts, corporate events, VIP functions and special projects.
• Conduct regular operational audits to ensure compliance with company standards, client requirements and local regulations.
• Identify new business opportunities and support the commercial team with proposals, tenders and contract negotiations.
• Plan manpower, recruit, manage succession planning and optimise workforce deployment.
• Coordinate mobilisation and demobilisation activities for new catering projects and contracts.
• Analyse financial performance, implement action plans to maximise revenue and control costs.
• Negotiate with suppliers and vendors to secure quality products and services at competitive prices.
• Ensure compliance with Qatar Municipality, Ministry of Public Health, Civil Defence, HACCP, ISO and food‑safety standards.
• Develop business continuity and risk‑management procedures.
• Prepare and present monthly operational and financial reports to senior management.

Required profile

• Minimum 10 years of experience in catering, hospitality or food services, with proven leadership of operations employing 500+ staff.
• Strong background in remote‑site catering, labour camps and industrial catering.
• Track record of managing multimillion‑dollar catering contracts.
• Bachelor’s degree required; MBA preferred.
• Excellent problem‑solving, decision‑making and crisis‑management abilities.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills for engaging clients, employees and senior management.
