Psychiatric Nurse – Addiction Specialty

About the role

The Primary Psychiatric Nurse provides individualized nursing care to patients with mental health and addiction needs, following treatment plans and ensuring high‑quality, compassionate service. This role works within a multidisciplinary team to deliver evidence‑based care in a hospital setting.

Key responsibilities

• Administer medications and monitor patients for treatment effects.
• Prepare rooms for new admissions and escort patients, ensuring a welcoming environment.
• Record patient observations, therapeutic interventions, and feedback for continuous improvement.
• Maintain clean, safe, and sanitary work areas and medical equipment.
• Provide emotional, psychological, and spiritual support to patients and families.
• Communicate clinical information to patients and families, answering questions and addressing concerns.
• Uphold patient confidentiality and privacy at all times.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Nursing.
• Minimum 3 years of nursing experience, including at least 1 year in mental health or addiction.
• Valid primary nursing license from the country of origin and eligibility for a Qatar licensing authority.
• Strong command of English and Arabic.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
