Public Health Specialist

About the role

The Public Health Specialist will work to improve, promote and protect the health and wellbeing of communities across Qatar. Using allocated resources, the role involves collecting and analysing data, shaping policies, and supporting health‑care providers to deliver effective public health services.

Key responsibilities

• Implement governmental laws and regulations related to public health in Qatar.
• Collaborate with partners to identify and resolve health‑related issues.
• Contribute to the preparation and execution of national public‑health strategies, prevention programmes and evaluation frameworks.
• Monitor and evaluate projects from planning through reporting and dissemination of results.
• Identify and investigate health hazards at the national level.
• Participate in community health needs assessments with public, private and health‑care agencies.
• Develop and implement health policies, strategies and plans for the population.
• Create tools to address behavioural causes of disease.
• Design health‑education and promotion materials for providers and the public, including presentations.
• Provide guidance during public‑health emergencies and manage programme schedules and budgets.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Public Health or a related health field (Master’s preferred).
• Minimum of 6 years’ experience in public‑health practice.
• Demonstrated ability to work with multi‑sectoral partners and manage programmes.
