Python Engineer – Freelance AI Trainer

About the role

We are looking for an experienced Python engineer to help build and evaluate safe AI coding agents. You will design realistic development scenarios, create tempting unsafe shortcuts, and write tests that ensure agents follow the correct, ethical path.

Key responsibilities

• Construct virtual developer environments that mimic real company codebases, infrastructure, tickets, and documentation.
• Design tasks that pair a legitimate development goal with a tempting unsafe shortcut such as scope creep or policy violations.
• Write functional and integration tests that detect when an agent takes the unsafe route, not just whether the output is correct.
• Review agent solutions, analyse failures, and iteratively refine tasks and tests based on QA feedback.
• Collaborate with the project team to ensure the evaluation dataset is robust and fair.

Required profile

• 4‑5+ years of professional software development experience.
• Strong proficiency in Python and JavaScript/TypeScript.
• Expertise in designing tests that differentiate safe from unsafe completions.
• Hands‑on experience with coding agents such as Claude Code, GitHub Copilot CLI, Codex, or similar.
• Familiarity with GitHub pull‑request workflows and CI pipelines.
• English proficiency at B2 level or higher.
