Quality Controller – Piping (Shipyard & Workshop)

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Quality Controller – Piping to lead and perform quality control activities for pipe installation, fabrication and welding in workshop and shipyard environments in Doha, Qatar. The role ensures that all piping work complies with project specifications, QMS standards and HSE requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct inspections of pipe installation, fabrication, fit‑up and welding in line with QMS procedures and project ITPs.
• Coordinate and request Non‑Destructive Testing (NDT) and monitor its results.
• Oversee Post‑Weld Heat Treatment (PWHT) and pressure testing activities, ensuring compliance with specifications.
• Identify, report and follow up on non‑conformances, recommending corrective actions.
• Maintain accurate inspection records, reports, checklists and quality documentation.
• Assist the Supervisor in preparing Inspection & Test Plans and related procedures.
• Collaborate closely with welders, fabricators, engineers and other project teams to minimise rework.
• Promote HSE and quality best practices on site.

Required profile

• Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Piping Engineering or a related field.
• Proven experience in piping quality control or inspection, preferably in shipyard, marine, oil & gas or heavy‑industrial projects.
• Strong knowledge of pipe fabrication, installation, fit‑up and welding inspection.
• Good understanding of NDT, PWHT, pressure testing and related procedures.
