Senior Commissioning Engineer (Instrumentation)

About the role

We are seeking a Senior Commissioning Engineer (Instrumentation) to lead pre‑commissioning, commissioning and start‑up activities for oil and gas processing facilities in Doha. The role involves defining and managing the commissioning organization, ensuring compliance with company procedures, and delivering a smooth hand‑over to operations.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, mobilize and supervise the execution of pre‑commissioning, commissioning and start‑up for instrumentation systems.
• Develop project‑specific commissioning procedures, reporting tools, technical databases and punch‑list controls.
• Coordinate with other project disciplines and existing facilities to align schedules and interfaces.
• Monitor and report commissioning progress, ensuring technical and contractual data are recorded for inspection.
• Control the commissioning schedule to meet the planned completion date while minimizing cost and lost time.
• Promote HSE best practices and verify implementation of safety procedures by the commissioning team.
• Review and approve work breakdown structures, resource plans, and commissioning management documents.
• Contribute to the improvement and standardisation of company commissioning processes.

Required profile

• B.Sc. in an engineering discipline.
• Minimum 12 years experience in design, construction, commissioning and start‑up of oil & gas processing plants, preferably offshore.
• At least 8 years experience as a Commissioning Coordinator or Team Leader on EPIC contracts.
• Proven ability to lead multidisciplinary teams and manage complex commissioning programmes.
