Process Controller / Control Room Operator (CCR)

About the role

The Process Controller / Control Room Operator will oversee the operation of a seawater reverse osmosis (SWRO) plant, ensuring stable production and water quality. Working from the control room, the role involves monitoring plant parameters, responding to alarms, and coordinating with field teams during start‑up, shutdown and emergencies.

Key responsibilities

• Operate and monitor SWRO plant processes via DCS/SCADA, controlling intake, pretreatment, DAF, ultrafiltration, high‑pressure pumps, RO trains, chemical dosing and product water distribution.
• Respond to alarms, process deviations and take corrective actions to maintain stable operation.
• Record operational data, prepare shift reports and monitor water quality parameters.
• Coordinate with field operators during start‑up, shutdown and emergencies, supervising field activities from the control room.
• Support maintenance teams in troubleshooting, equipment isolation, instrument calibration and preventive maintenance activities.
• Ensure compliance with HSE procedures, permits‑to‑work and environmental regulations, reporting abnormal conditions immediately.

Required profile

• Diploma or degree in Chemical, Mechanical, Electrical Engineering, Process Technology or Water Treatment Technology (or equivalent technical qualification with desalination experience).
• 3–5 years of experience in SWRO desalination plants (≥50 MLD), water or wastewater treatment plants, or related process industries.
• Proven experience operating DCS, SCADA and PLC control systems.
