About the role
The Senior Consultant – Pulmonology provides expert clinical care and leadership within the respiratory department. Reporting to the Department Chair or Section Head, this senior physician oversees a team of consultants and junior doctors.
Key responsibilities
- Deliver high‑quality patient care: diagnose, treat, manage and admit patients under personal clinical privileges.
- Supervise clinical decisions made by doctors within the team.
- Collaborate with the department chair on service development, budgeting, staffing and funding matters.
- Lead teaching and training programmes for junior doctors.
- Drive academic and research initiatives in pulmonology.
Required profile
- Western medical qualification (UK, USA, Canada, Australia or equivalent).
- Minimum five years of post‑qualification clinical experience in pulmonology.
- Valid medical licence/registration in the home country and eligibility for licensing in Qatar.
- Excellent interpersonal, communication and teamwork abilities.
- Commitment to patient safety, clinical excellence and high standards of care.
