Senior Licensed Formulation Chemist

About the role

We are seeking a Senior Licensed Formulation Chemist to lead formulation development projects from concept through scale‑up at our Doha laboratory. The role involves designing experiments, preparing samples and optimizing formulations to meet performance, safety and regulatory requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Lead formulation development projects, from initial concept to pilot‑scale production.
• Design and execute experiments, prepare samples and optimise formulations.
• Oversee daily laboratory activities and ensure compliance with health, safety and environmental standards.
• Maintain accurate documentation, test records and technical reports.
• Coordinate with production and quality teams to transfer formulations to manufacturing.
• Troubleshoot process or product issues and support continuous improvement initiatives.
• Mentor junior chemists and technicians and collaborate with internal and external stakeholders.
• Provide technical expertise for new product development, regulatory submissions and customer requirements.

Required profile

• Strong analytical skills with ability to interpret data and solve problems.
• Advanced laboratory skills, including safe chemical handling, experimental design and operation of laboratory equipment.
• Experience in quality control, setting specifications and conducting routine tests.
• Proven R&D experience with innovation and method development.
• Extensive formulation experience in chemicals, coatings, cosmetics, pharmaceuticals or related fields.
• Licensed or eligible for licensure as a chemist according to local regulations.
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering or related discipline; advanced degree preferred.
• Demonstrated ability to work on‑site in laboratory and production environments adhering to HSE standards.
