Senior Procurement Specialist

About the role

The Senior Procurement Specialist will support the management of procurement activities across product categories, ensuring best value for Agroshipping LLC. This role involves strategic sourcing, supplier performance optimisation and close collaboration with internal stakeholders.

Key responsibilities

• Assist with category planning, analysis and management.
• Manage and optimise supplier performance and reduce total cost of ownership.
• Plan procurement activities in coordination with senior management.
• Oversee tender management and administration for high‑value, high‑risk projects.
• Conduct market research to identify alternative supply sources.
• Interface with internal user departments and suppliers on procurement projects.
• Support the setting and achievement of category KPIs.
• Review and endorse strategy, compliance and best‑practice documents.
• Provide regular status updates to internal departments and suppliers.
• Develop relationships with end users to optimise volumes and specifications.
• Ensure adherence to procurement processes, delegation of authority and company policies.
• Collaborate with the Contracts team to secure appropriate agreements.

Required profile

• Experience supervising and developing staff, including recruitment, training and performance management.
• Ability to set priorities, coach team members and resolve problems.
• Accountability for decisions and project delivery.
• Proactive in proposing and implementing business process improvements.
