Senior Windows System Administrator

About the role

An experienced Windows System Administrator is sought to ensure the stability, security and performance of the IT infrastructure. The role covers Windows servers, Active Directory, virtualization and storage, user support, and backup and disaster recovery.

Key responsibilities

• Manage Active Directory users, groups, policies, permissions and storage allocations.
• Install, configure, maintain and upgrade Windows Server systems and supporting software.
• Manage Windows virtual servers, VMware virtualization and assigned automation for provisioning.
• Operate enterprise backup solutions such as Veritas NetBackup and validate restore readiness.
• Implement data protection, disaster recovery and failover mechanisms for assigned services.
• Monitor systems, servers, storage, backups, logs and alerts, and troubleshoot outages.
• Apply patches, security updates and hardening baselines, and maintain documentation, inventories and procedures.
• Support systems management and infrastructure management platforms, and take part in risk assessments, business impact analyses and design reviews.
• Manage Web Proxy and email-security infrastructure within the Systems scope, and follow change management controls.
• Use approved AI to correlate telemetry, draft automation and procedures, and review all AI-generated scripts and configurations before production use.
• Maintain tested recovery procedures, run backup, failover and site-recovery tests, and identify single points of failure and capacity bottlenecks.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Technology, Information Systems or a related field.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in enterprise systems administration.
• At least 3 years of hands-on experience with Windows Server and Active Directory.
• At least 3 years of hands-on experience in virtualization, enterprise storage and backup.
• Mandatory Microsoft certification and VMware Certified Professional - Data Center Virtualization (VCP-DCV).
• Preferred: Veeam Certified Engineer (VMCE) or relevant Veritas certification.
