Specialist Hematologist – Tertiary Care Hospital

About the role

The Specialist – Hematology provides comprehensive, evidence‑based care for patients with benign hematological disorders in a tertiary‑care governmental hospital. Working within a multidisciplinary team, the specialist ensures high standards of patient safety, clinical outcomes, and continuous improvement.

Key responsibilities

• Diagnose and manage anemia, bleeding, clotting, and bone‑marrow disorders.
• Deliver inpatient and outpatient hematology consultations and follow‑up care.
• Interpret laboratory investigations such as peripheral blood smears, coagulation profiles, and bone‑marrow findings.
• Perform or supervise bone‑marrow aspiration and biopsy procedures.
• Develop individualized treatment plans based on international guidelines.
• Collaborate with internal medicine, pathology, laboratory, and other teams for integrated care.
• Participate in multidisciplinary meetings, case discussions, and clinical handovers.
• Maintain accurate documentation in the Hospital Information System (HIS) and adhere to clinical governance standards.

Required profile

• Medical Degree (MD or equivalent) from an accredited institution.
• Board‑certified specialization in Hematology.
• Minimum 3 years post‑board experience as a Hematology specialist.
• Eligibility for a Specialist license under Qatar DHP regulations.
• Experience in governmental or tertiary‑care teaching hospitals is preferred.
