Strategic Planning and Risk Management Specialist

About the role

The University of Doha for Science and Technology is seeking a Strategic Planning and Risk Management Specialist to support the development, implementation and monitoring of its multi‑year Strategic Plan and enterprise risk framework. The role reports to the Manager of Strategic Planning and Performance and works closely with senior leadership and academic units.

Key responsibilities

• Develop, implement and continuously improve UDST’s strategic plan, ensuring alignment with the university’s mission, vision and Qatar National Vision 2030.
• Conduct environmental scanning, SWOT, trend analyses and benchmarking to identify opportunities, challenges and institutional risks.
• Prepare strategic performance reports, dashboards and briefing materials for senior leadership.
• Coordinate implementation of the strategic and operational plans, monitor progress, identify gaps and recommend corrective actions.
• Develop, review and monitor KPIs, targets and milestones linked to the strategic plan.
• Engage stakeholders across colleges, departments and executive leadership to gather input and foster ownership of strategic priorities.
• Support accreditation, institutional effectiveness activities and external ranking participation.
• Maintain risk management frameworks, risk register and report significant institutional risks.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field (Master’s preferred).
• Minimum 5 years of experience in strategic planning and risk management, preferably in higher education.
• Project‑management or risk‑management certifications are desirable (e.g., PMP, PMI‑RMP, CRM, CRMP).
