System Engineer – Airfield Lighting & SCADA

About the role

ADB SAFEGATE is seeking a System Engineer to lead the maintenance of critical airport electronic systems, including airfield lighting control, SCADA platforms, and auxiliary electronic equipment. The role combines technical expertise with team leadership to ensure safety, reliability, and operational excellence across airport facilities.

Key responsibilities

• Manage maintenance of Airfield Lighting Control Monitoring System (ALCMS), SAM, and AiPRON Manager.
• Oversee constant current regulators, ILCMS, fire detection/alarm, BMS, and VoIP systems.
• Lead a team of technicians, planning schedules, assigning tasks, and evaluating performance.
• Analyse equipment failures, determine root causes, and implement corrective actions.
• Ensure compliance with safety regulations and enforce safety rules.
• Utilise a computerized maintenance management system (CMMS) for scheduling and reporting.
• Inspect airport facilities, recommend corrective actions, and review subcontractor work.
• Recommend capital equipment and spare‑part requirements.

Required profile

• Minimum 5 years of experience with electronic equipment and SCADA systems.
• Knowledge of AGL regulatory frameworks (QCAR, ICAO, BAA, FAA).
• Proven ability to supervise, train, and motivate technical staff.
• Strong written and oral communication skills in English; additional languages are a plus.
• Customer‑oriented, result‑driven, and safety‑aware.
• Valid Qatari driving licence.
