Technical Authority Expert – IP and Transport

About the role

Ericsson is looking for a Technical Authority Expert to lead IP and Transport service configuration, operations and maintenance in Doha. You will act as a senior technical resource, ensuring service delivery meets the defined SLA performance levels.

Key responsibilities

• 2nd‑level incident, fault and KPI troubleshooting.
• Perform preventive maintenance and handle customer service requests.
• Prepare, test and implement configuration changes for service activation, restoration and performance optimisation.
• Deploy software updates and upgrades on IP & Transport nodes.
• System administration, node integration, expansion and commissioning.
• Commission, configure, upgrade and maintain routers and firewalls (Ericsson R6000, Juniper M120/M103/M320/MX480/MX960).

Required profile

• Degree in Electrical Engineering, Telecommunication Engineering, Computer Science or Computer Engineering.
• 5‑10 years of experience in the transport domain.
• Deep knowledge of IP routing protocols and managed‑service telecom operations.

Required skills

• Configuration, maintenance and troubleshooting of IP‑MPLS networks.
• Routing protocols: OSPF, BGP, MPLS, RSVP.
• Transport technologies: DWDM, SONET/SDH, Ethernet.
• Redundancy protocols: HSRP, VRRP, BFD.
• Microwave, optical and IPRAN network configuration.
• Technical issues related to EVPN, ISIS, MPLS TE/FRR/VPN.
• Understanding of 2G, 4G and 5G network architecture, interfaces, protocols and signaling.
• Quality of Service (QoS) concepts.
