VMware Consultant – Professional Services

About the role

We are seeking an experienced VMware Professional Services Consultant to design, implement, migrate and optimise VMware‑based virtualization and private‑cloud solutions for our customers. The role works closely with architects, project managers and technical teams to deliver end‑to‑end infrastructure projects and provide expert guidance throughout the engagement lifecycle.

Key responsibilities

• Engage with customers to capture business and technical requirements.
• Design and implement VMware virtualization, private‑cloud and storage solutions (vSphere, vSAN, NSX, Aria).
• Deploy, configure and manage ESXi hosts, vCenter Server and related components.
• Perform infrastructure assessments, health checks, capacity planning and optimisation.
• Plan and execute migrations, upgrades and consolidations of virtual environments.
• Implement networking and security using VMware NSX‑T/NSX.
• Develop high‑level and detailed technical designs, runbooks and documentation.
• Lead workshops, discovery sessions and solution demonstrations.
• Troubleshoot complex virtualization, networking and storage issues.
• Support disaster‑recovery, backup and business‑continuity solutions.
• Collaborate with networking, storage, security, cloud and application teams.
• Mentor junior engineers and provide technical leadership during projects.

Required profile

• Strong hands‑on experience with VMware vSphere, ESXi and vCenter.
• Proven consulting background with excellent customer‑facing and stakeholder‑management skills.
• Ability to lead technical workshops and mentor delivery teams.
• Experience delivering enterprise‑scale virtualization and cloud projects.
