Vocational Instructor (Hybrid)

About the role

In a hybrid role, you will share technical expertise by instructing students and helping develop and revise vocational courseware that improves the learning experience for customers. You will deliver engaging technical instruction to diverse audiences, adapting your teaching methods to different learning styles, and support the General Engineering and specialty teams with their short courses and other contracted courses at QTI.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver vocational training modules across the Vocational Training Program and assess learner performance according to the module's assessment strategy, which may take place inside or outside the trade boundary.
• Serve as Subject Matter Expert for vocational and other contracted courses, keeping content accurate and up to date.
• Develop and update teaching materials such as lesson plans, presentations, handouts and assessments.
• Use modern teaching methods and technologies to create interactive learning experiences, working with instructional teams to integrate feedback.
• Provide constructive feedback and support to students and foster an inclusive learning environment.
• Collaborate with colleagues and stakeholders to improve course content, delivery and assessment, and stay informed on industry trends and best practices.
• Take part in professional development and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and quality standards.

Required profile

• Degree or diploma or equivalent in the relevant technical field.
• Proven experience as a vocational instructor or similar role, preferably in engineering or technical education.
• Experience designing training following the BSAT/DSAT model.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and the ability to work collaboratively in a team.
• Strong organisational and time-management skills, with adaptability to the diverse needs of students.
